UK Quantity Surveying & Construction Conference

Date and Time: Tuesday 12 July 2022, 09:30 – 16:30 BST

Location: RICS Headquarters, 12 Great George St, London, SW1P 3AD

The UK construction cost was already one of the highest in Europe and now with an increased global demand in the construction sector, material costs have reached a 40-year-high. At a time when workload continues to grow across most parts of the construction industry and the demand for better infrastructure grows examine how this is impacting regular industry practice.

Glodon is participating this Conference. Join us at RICS QS and Construction one-day conference as we return to London to hear the government’s construction strategy, RICS forthcoming guidance, and ongoing challenges around sufficient supply of key building materials.

The conference will provide a platform for delegates to discuss daily challenges including: how we can adapt to ensure that UK construction is actively supporting the path to Net Zero; how the value toolkit enables value-based decision making and the need for Surveyors to embrace the use of the data and information management processes. While looking at key lessons and learning from Thames Tideway Tunnel and relevant new case law in construction.

Discuss current events including how the Ukraine crisis has presented new challenges for the industry.

Assess what impact the rising shortage of skilled workers is having on the industry.

Hear about RICS forthcoming guidance including RICS new thought leadership paper that will be launching at the event.

Understand the challenges and hurdles the Thames Tideway Tunnel project encountered.

Discuss the need for Surveyors to embrace the use of the data and information management processes.

Evaluate how we can bring fourdotzero into the lifecycle.

Review what digital twins mean for the future of construction.

Discuss how we can drive decision-making and how we can adapt to ensure that UK construction is actively supporting the path to Net Zero.

Evaluate how RICS standards support path to net zero: the new carbon assessment standard and ICMS 3
