Malaysian Government Delegation Engages with Glodon to Explore Digital Innovation in Construction

A dedicated delegation from the Government of Malaysia visited China in July, for a focused technology exchange hosted by Glodon, aimed at strengthening cross-border collaboration and sharing insights on digital transformation in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.

Bringing together engineers, architects, and infrastructure professionals, the delegation represents agencies including the Public Works Department (JKR), Ministry of Works (KKR), Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), and JKR Sarawak.

Throughout the visit, the delegation participated in a series of discussions, technology demonstrations, and site visits that highlighted the evolving role of digital tools and AI-powered solutions in improving project delivery and construction management. The program provided an opportunity to observe how digitalization is being applied in practice, with a focus on enhancing productivity, efficiency, and collaboration across the construction lifecycle.

The delegation also visited several industry-leading organizations to gain first-hand experience of how technology enables efficiency across the entire modular building lifecycle, and how large-scale projects are delivered using integrated BIM and smart construction solutions. These visits offered practical perspectives on the integration of technology in real-world construction environments and its impact on project outcomes.

In addition to technology topics, the exchange included dialogue on policy approaches and the role of public sector leadership in advancing digital adoption across the industry.

This initiative enabled valuable knowledge sharing and opened new opportunities for future cooperation. It also provided inspiration for advancing innovation and talent development in Malaysia’s construction sector.
