InvestHK and HKTDC Visit Glodon to Explore Global Development Opportunities in Construction Technology

On May 30th, Loretta Lee, Head of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), and Kevin Chan, Chief Representative of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) North and Northeast China, visited Glodon to conduct in-depth discussions on bilateral cooperation in the digital construction sector and development opportunities in emerging markets. This visit represents an important follow-up activity after HKSAR Chief Executive John Lee led a delegation that for the first time included representatives from both Hong Kong and mainland China on a visit to Qatar and Kuwait, with Glodon being the first company visited by the Invest Hong Kong in this follow-up initiative.

During the visit, Loretta Lee and her delegation held discussions with Glodon Vice President Lei Peng, Assistant President Zhu Dandan, among others. They gained detailed insights into Glodon's global business expansion, particularly its development status and future plans in Hong Kong and emerging markets along the Belt and Road Initiative countries and the Middle East region.

The delegation emphasized how Hong Kong and mainland enterprises "sailing together" highlights Hong Kong's role as a "super connector," while also introducing Hong Kong's unique advantages as an international financial and trading center, as well as the HKSAR government's proactive policies and service measures to support mainland enterprises in "going global" and expanding overseas markets.

Both parties exchanged views on future cooperation in areas including technology R&D in Hong Kong, government project collaboration, standard setting, and industry-academia-research integration, with plans to actively advance subsequent cooperation.

After the meeting, the delegation toured Glodon's Digital Building Experience Center, gaining deep insights into the company's core capabilities and achievements in quantity surveying, digital design, smart construction, and digital cities. They focused particularly on innovative practices in the global digital construction field, including projects such as Glodon (Xi'an) R&D Center, Beijing Daxing International Airport, and Helsinki's Oodi Central Library.

This visit not only deepened the relevant Hong Kong SAR government agencies' understanding of Glodon's overseas business but also established a solid foundation for future cooperation between Glodon and Hong Kong enterprises in jointly exploring overseas markets. Glodon looks forward to using Hong Kong as a bridgehead for expansion into Asia and globally, leveraging Hong Kong's platform advantages and open environment to deepen cooperation and jointly advance toward a new stage of globalization.
