Glodon Joins Hands with UN Global Compact to Empower Energy Transition with Digital Strength

Glodon, a leading digital building platform service provider, has reinforced its commitment to global sustainability by engaging with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in a series of high-level events focused on energy transition.

On April 9, Ms. Liu Meng , Head, China Office, United Nations Global Compact, visited Glodon’s headquarters in Beijing. She met with Mr. Yuan Zhenggang, Chairman and President of Glodon, along with other senior leaders including Mr. Ji Yatu, Vice President; Mr. Wu Lin, Assistant President; and Ms. Li Jing, Head of ESG and Sustainability Affairs.

During the meeting, Mr. Yuan presented Glodon’s latest achievements in digital construction, full-lifecycle carbon management, and digital solutions for new energy scenarios. Ms. Liu expressed strong interest in Glodon’s green and low-carbon digital practices and introduced UNGC’s platform resources and cooperation mechanisms. Both sides acknowledged the construction industry as a critical front for energy transition and carbon neutrality, and agreed to deepen technical exchanges and co-develop standards through multilateral platforms in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He noted that Glodon provides digital technologies, software, and services to the construction industry, embedding green and low-carbon capabilities across traditional buildings, industrial plants, infrastructure, new energy projects, and data centers, enabling carbon reduction and efficiency gains throughout the project lifecycle.

Leveraging nearly 30 years of construction digitalization expertise, Glodon has developed a specialized software and solutions covering the full lifecycle of new energy projects from design to operation, addressing pain points in infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance.

Mr. Yuan also highlighted that buildings account for a significant share of global energy consumption, making building decarbonization essential to energy transition. Glodon’s core offerings include carbon emission measurement for building materials and full-lifecycle carbon footprint accounting services, while leveraging digital twins to optimize building energy efficiency.

Looking ahead, he said Glodon is actively collaborating with new energy system providers to integrate renewables with buildings, envisioning future buildings as both energy producers and storage units.

He further noted that a Finnish company acquired by Glodon in 2014 has mature MEP solutions that have been deployed in several European countries. Glodon plans to introduce these solutions to Asia and the Chinese market to help buildings adapt to new energy development.

The events marked an important milestone in Glodon's deepening international cooperation with the UN Global Compact. They also demonstrated Glodon's strong capabilities in ESG governance, green technology innovation, and global deployment in the new energy sector.

Looking ahead, Glodon will continue to leverage multilateral platforms such as the UN Global Compact to actively participate in global sustainability standard-setting and knowledge sharing. By connecting upstream and downstream partners through digital technology, Glodon aims to drive a just energy transition and contribute to both China's high-quality new energy development and global carbon neutrality goals.
