Glodon Business Platform Launched at China Digital Building Summit 2023

The annual China Digital Building Summit was held in Xi'an on June 9th. With a theme of systematic digitalization, the event attracted more than 3,500 participants.

A wide range of topics was discussed by renowned think tank experts, academic scholars, industry regulators, and entrepreneurs, including achieving deep integration of the digital economy and the construction industry, the development prospects of digital transformation in the new era, cutting-edge technologies and metaverse in construction and urban digitalization, comprehensive and systematic implementation of digital transformation in the construction industry.

Yuan Zhenggang, the Chairman and President of Glodon Company Limited, said during his keynote report that digital transformation driven by digital technologies has become a global choice across various industries and countries.

He believes that the driving forces behind the transformation include the demand for returning to work and lifestyle norms, disruptive changes in production methods, and the pursuit of sustainable development and a low-carbon transformation across the entire industry chain.

The biggest pitfall in the digitalization of the construction industry lies in the lack of integration in business operations, the fragmentation of applications, and the creation of data silos, said Yuan. And it is necessary to implement systematic digitalization and support multiple business operations through a "platform + components" approach to address this issue.

During the summit, Glodon officially launched the Glodon Business Platform (GBP), which received significant attention. This platform will support multiple business operations through a "platform + components" model and facilitate the digital transformation of enterprises through the integration of professional applications.

It provides a PaaS platform covering design, construction, operation and maintenance, and other building lifecycle services for the entire construction industry. It is expected to accelerate the integration of digital technologies into the construction sector, promote collaboration and innovation, and drive the industry toward a more efficient, sustainable, and interconnected future.

According to Yuan, the GBP is an industry-level platform that combines core digital technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI). It is specifically designed to empower the construction industry throughout the project lifecycle. Importantly, all the core technologies of this platform are developed by Glodon.

In terms of BIM technology, the platform leverages proprietary graphics technology to provide a comprehensive range of capabilities, including BIM modeling, BIM integration, BIM data exchange standards, and lightweight BIM solutions.

Regarding IoT technology, the platform offers Industrial IoT capabilities, enabling the processing of billions of time-series data and supporting the integration of over 90 construction equipment categories. With a robust ecosystem of more than 300 partners and validation from over 70,000 industry devices, it effectively addresses the challenges posed by the complexity and diversity of construction equipment, as well as the difficulties in implementation and delivery.

In the field of AI, the platform seamlessly integrates AI technology with industry-specific scenarios. It provides over 1,000 industry data models and more than 80 intelligent application scenarios, supported by a distributed data storage capacity in the petabyte scale.

In terms of cloud computing technology, the platform offers cloud-neutral adaptation capabilities, enabling code to be deployed across multiple cloud providers and seamlessly switching between different environments. This liberates businesses from the constraints of technology platforms and resolves issues related to the high costs of technological upgrades and data security risks.

In order to build an ecosystem for win-win cooperation, Glodon has also officially launched the Developer Network and the acceleration program for the GBP, and signed contracts with a total of 12 ecosystem partners.
