Glodon has participated the 2021 China Software Industry Annual Conference and promoted “new infrastructure” for the digital transformation of the AEC industry

On April 7, 2021 , the China Software Industry Annual Conference was held in Beijing. Sponsored by the China Software Industry Association, the conference is the largest and highest-level professional conference in China's software industry. The topic of the conference was " high-quality development enabled by the advancement of the software industry in the new era in the digital economy " . The conference followed the requirements of the 14 the  Five-Year Plan and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035 , and focuses on the key direction of software innovation and the key areas of enterprise digital transformation. A great number of governments, enterprises, universities, and research institutes were invited to this conference to display the new forms of the software industry and discuss new directions for industry development through summits , round table dialogues , etc.
 

Mr. Liu Qian, director and senior vice president of Glodon, was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech in which he analyzed the new paradigm of the digital transformation of the construction industry and explained the path to realize high-quality development in the construction industry. The name of this keynote speech was " Digital Building and the construction of new infrastructure to facilitate the transformation of the construction industry" . In this speech, he pointed out that, according to "The 14th  Five-Year Plan", it was essential to develop the digital economy, promote industrial digitalization, and improve the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy to forge  a digital industry cluster with international competitiveness.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other 13 departments jointly issued the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Coordinated Development of Intelligent Construction and Construction Industrialization. This document pointed out that our overall purpose is to realize high-quality development of the construction industry. To realize this goal, we should promote building industrialization, with digitalization and intelligent upgrading as the driving force, and form an intelligent construction industrial system that integrates the whole industrial chain including scientific research, design, production and processing, construction and assembly, and operation. High-quality development is the theme of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and industrial digital transformation is the key to form the new pattern of high-quality development. Therefore, data has become a factor of production to drive social development;  the industrial Internet has become a new infrastructure for industrial digital transformation;  digital twins has become a new form of industrial development ; and "platform + ecology" has become a distinguishing feature of industrial organizations.
   
 

In terms of how to promote the digitalization of the construction industry, Mr. Liu believed that the key lay in reshaping productive relations. Based on data, the new productivity will promote the transformation of industrial roles . For example, cost consulting, supervision units, management of the contractors, etc., will be transformed into whole-process engineering consultants;  The general contractor of design and construction will be transformed into the general contractor of the EPC project. W ith the development of digital transformation, the whole-process engineering consultants and part of the general contractor of EPC project will evolve into a service provider of digital building, and part of the general contractor of EPC project will become a service provider of new entity construction around the two main lines of project and construction.

Mr.  Liu claimed that the house would be "built 2 times" in the future, including a virtual one and then a physical one. The virtual building is a full-digital sample delivered through collaborative design, virtual production, virtual construction, virtual operation, and maintenance, and the physical house is an industrial-quality one delivered through industrial lean construction combining digital production line and physical production line. Then, he introduced the construction process , using Glodon Innovation Center in Xi'an as an example. By the construction drawing design of inverse formula, this project put the decoration design in advance and took architectural usage scenario as the starting point to conduct the optimization and iteration of architecture, design, mechatronics design and to decide the schedule of component production, which enhances the efficiency of the whole design and also guarantees efficiency, reasonability, and operability.

According to Mr. Liu's speech, through the "production line" based on digital twin s and“the brain of the whole project" based on“the data and algorithm”, digital building platform would help the construction of“new infrastructure” to promote the digital transformation of the construction industry and endow the upgrading of the industrial productivity and revolution of productive relations. The digital building platform combined BIM, IoT, and smart services are driven by data and algorithms  to accelerate the completeness of the whole project. Because this platform would help to realize the high efficiency of resource allocation, multi-project intensive management, to reduce defect changes and greatly shorten project duration, to improve the safety and quality of building products, to deliver industrial quality building products, and to realize lean management to enhance the economic benefits of construction enterprises.


Moreover, the 2021 China Software Industry Annual Conference also issued a number of annual awards. In terms of the future development of the construction industry, Mr. Liu claimed that, for the traditional construction industry, the direction of development was to realize the industrial level of refinement and the goal of development was to achieve quality and efficiency improvement, cost reduction, and consumption reduction, and“Making Every Project A Success" . He also said that it was necessary to deconstruct the traditional construction industry into three parts: the whole elements, whole process, and all participants, and then reconstruct them as digital, online, and intelligent , thus creating three new productive forces represented by the new design, new construction, and new operation and maintenance.
